Yes. That is how you spell it, but crock is not a thing, it is an amount. As in, a crock of shit. Have you ever prepared clam chowder or barbecue in a crockpot? They are quite delicious. That is the amount that is in a crock. So you are in effect saying something akin to "what a pile of gallon" or "what a pile of liter." I do not think that this is what you meant to say.
P.S. I would gleefully test your roommate's DNA. I would then give him an obviously phony empathetic look as I told him that he had failed, visibly unable to stifle my laughter.
